Lion Brand is My Saviour!

This launching a website business thingy is tricky! Shocking I know. This copyright on patterns business was seriously throwing a wrench in my whole plan. The book I wanted to use the author is not open to people using her patterns to make the things and sell. Bums me out, but is motivating me to come up with similar yet different things! I also came across this lovely site: http://sherricrochets.com/ in my search for usable patterns for taking to make and sell the product. I'm going to use her patterns to, hopefully, tweak and come up with my own twist on it, solely for creating stuff to sell. I am not interested in the selling pattern end of things. Too much craziness involved! Also Lion's Brand Yarn has tons of free patterns for use to make and sell!!! Hooray! So until I have time to tinker around with patterns, I have a go-to site!

I also have Aaron Goodin to thank for all his help with helping me build a site... Thank you, buddy, can't wait to meet one of these days!

I'm Baaack! And With Crazy News!

Sooo, it's been a crazy busy time since August. I've mostly been focused on finishing up Graduate School, which I'm happy to say I'll be graduating next month! So in the craziness that is end of the semester and end of school madness and job hunting I thought now would be a good time to start a new creative venture! What started as just an idea to ruminate on turned into way more of a reality sooner than I was anticipating. In the span of a 1/2 hour text conversation I was the proud owner of a domain name! Whaaaaaat?!?!

So ultimately I will be selling my knit and crochet wares on the wonderful world wide webbers! The thing is... I don't know the first thing about web site design! Nevermind everything else about running a business on or off the internet. So I thought, why not document this process!

Get someone to build site. Check.

Thank goodness for The Facebook. A quick status update asking for help designing a website for cheap and/or bartering and I had a bidder within minutes. Well, it was my friend offering up her boyfriend. Same difference, right? He's onboard though, so that's exciting.

I'm trying not to get too overwhelmed trying to figure out best shopping cart options and whatnot, but I'm not sure how I'm doing. I'm off to send out an email to all that I've gifted my creations to for testimonials and pictures!

Wish me luck!

...oh and if you're interested in buying something... let me know!
